The DDK Speedster replica ...

Post by Lightweight_911 »

The ex- Phil's/Mick's/Helen's lovely Apal Speedster is up for sale again.

Always thought it was a shame it's not LHD ...

 Maybe we should go together, you`ve got plenty of room for a summer car now Mick.

Looks well in the photos.. the only speedster rep I know with a pedigree, it`s good she pops up every now and then so someone else can enjoy her.

Prehaps one day. :)

Yes, plenty of room and I'm quite pleased I'm in the Philippines and cannot be tempted

Mick

There's a nice 550 rep available in Manila for P1.2m. I'm based in Bohol and think it would be ideal for around here but a new baby has already knocked that one on the head.

No good for me.... as a fair-skinned European I'd just fry!
Interesting though - was the 550 imported into the Philippines or was it built here? As I understand it it is not possible to bring cars older than 5 years into Ph

I sold the car to the current owner for £12k, so even with the engine and brake rebuild, plus new wheels, there must be a nice bit of profit in the asking price.

I'd fogotton that Ants had owned the Apal....
When I bought the Apal off Philip it had a new engine (<1000 miles) and a set of chrome wheels (wheels were a bit rusty though). There was a second set of 5.5" wheels (new) that came with the car too...

Not seen it in person just a couple of photos (for the life of me I cant find the advert now) He says it's one of 12 in the RP and although road registered is mainly used for trackdays.

Not sure how it got here, maybe it's based on a VW floorpan as there are plenty of those and spares are available and he just imported the body. Either he knows some one in Customs, has deep pockets or was imaginative on the import docs. I'm scared to go and see it as my impulse buying record isnt great...
