Some closing pictures from my penultimate visit to Chesterton yesterday, note the last three digits of the chassis number (606S) just visible on the inner door shot.

Garry,

Great thread and fantastic work mate 8)

Having just done 1700 miles in my own 67s (306570), I can assure you the wait will be worth it.

As the bodywork journey draws to a close another chapter opens with preparation and painting.

Canford Classics now pick up the gauntlet with a coming together of minds on final paint colour and pre-assembly.

800 hours!!!!! - Ouch!

John's car looks fantastic although mine is being painted in our own bodyshop. I'm lucky to work with guys who are top class painters.
I initially planned to do the all the body work in-house but as you well know this area is a tad specialised!

Looking forward to seeing your car in paint.

800 hours x £ / hour + parts + paint

This brings it home doesn't it?

Great job done and a real investment. Will be a cracker.

Just caught up with this thread after a period of running well behind with DDK surfing.

Great to see the shell completed, and stunning work from Chesterton 8) .

Interesting to hear the hours as well, not something you often get to know.

Thank you for posting the story of the shell, Garry, and very best wishes for the next stages 8) .

Garry

Wonderful work and great to see another one saved 'properly'.

I was just thinking ( and a great target for you ) what a nice thing it would be to get a rhd 67S display at say Castle Heddingham next year. It's a pity pmjt's livvy appears to have been lost to DDK
but of the seven cars I know to exist (except for two light ivory cars) they are all different colours!!

Bahama yellow, special order blue/green, polo red, light ivory, aga blue, sand beige,

What a line up that would be!

Regards
Mike

That sounds a plan Mike,

From memory I can't remember seeing any this year, my goal is Classic Le Mans DDK camp site :|

I can feel my paint colour being fun before then....
