Three weeks.
Maybe they’re busy?
Maybe I’m being unreasonable expecting them to complete the work so soon.

Re: Speedy Cables - a users experience
Four weeks elapsed. All quiet. Strange, because in my line of business things happen within hours, days maybe but never a month. Surely service and reliability are important to Speedy Cables too? They must understand that you need to ensure customers can rely on you, everything must be delivered in a timely fashion and the client needs to be reassured all the way. Feedback and updates are essential. Keep the customer in the loop and constantly advise them on the job status. Maybe even email photos with added insight? There are many ways these days to enlighten the end user. But alas, for me, no further news.

Two months on. Silence from Wales (yes, the company has long since moved from bustling London, the hub of our commercial base, the power house of the nation. They re-located to South Wales in sleepy Swansea).

Five months on and I’m growing increasingly concerned. But I really don’t want to chase them because I’m determined to let them impress me by themselves.

Re: Speedy Cables - a users experience
However it’s now been 26 weeks. Six months. That’s half a YEAR. I haven’t heard a thing. No email, no phone call, no letter. Nothing. By now I’m really worried that they may have lost my gauges (which are all original to the car with correct and matching date stamps. Irreplaceable really).

Re: Speedy Cables - a users experience
Very, very reluctantly I break my resolve and chase them. I did not want to do that. I really wanted to hold out as long as it took. But I now genuinely believe I would NEVER have got the work done. I honestly feel they would have happily NEVER finished if I hadn’t nagged them. If you use them I’d urge you to chase them constantly and mercilessly.
But I relented and phoned: “Oh, really? What was your name again? I’ll check and get back to you”. No apology. No explanation. No concern. Nothing.

Re: Speedy Cables - a users experience
So, I wait again. I wait a few hours. I have a coffee and wait a little longer. I daren’t go out for lunch. I wait until the end of the day. Shall I go home? Will they call any minute now and I’ll miss it? Eventually with tired eyes I give up and trudge off to bed. Another 24 hours pass. Finally a call. “Your gauges will be ready in a week”. No apology. No really, NO apology. I didn’t hear sorry, it wasn’t spoken. No regrets. No condolence.
So evidently they hadn’t even started them and if I hadn’t chased them up they wouldn’t have. But I said nothing, bit my lip and cheerily wished them well and reassured them I was delighted things were finally progressing.

I've lost track of the timescales, are we in the first half of this year yet?

Re: Speedy Cables - a users experience
Old Father time ticks off 14 days. Still no word. Winter recedes fast. Spring has turned over to the next season, in my garden the grass turns yellow. I started this process with the golden leaves of Autumn on the ground and by now it’s the hissing of Summer lawns.
