DDK EUROPEAN TOUR : 23rd - 25th SEPT 2011

Post by hot66 »

Die Deutschen Klassiker 2011 European Tour , inc SPA 6 HOURS historic racing- Friday 23rd to Monday 26th September, 2011

1st Tickets are delighted to announce the details for the DDK Club's Driving Tour to Nürburgring and Spa - Francorschamp: We have put together a three night self drive package staying in the village of Nürburg, home of the Nordschleife. The tour will take in some of the great driving roads in the Eifel National Park, the Six Hours of Spa classic endurance race and a drive to the Arh wine region of Germany.

We have selected a family run hotel close to the Nürburg castle and within easy walking distance to the other local bars and restaurants. The Burgstube is an 11 bedroom hotel and restaurant, with another 5 rooms available at Pension Heidi just 50 metres away. The main building was built in 1800, and was once a farmhouse, with a barn running at a right angle from the rear. All the rooms at Burgstube are en-suite, as are 3 of the rooms at Pension Heidi. The remaining 2 twin rooms share a bathroom. All the rooms are simple but comfortable and always immaculately clean.

IF YOU WANT TO ATTENDED YOU MUST FOLLOW THE LINK AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST & PAY A DEPOSIT. SPACES ARE LIMITED IN THE MAIN HOTELS AND WILL BE AVAILBLE ON A 1ST COME 1ST SERVED BASIS ALTHOUGH IF THE MAIN DDK HOTELS GET BOOKED UP, WE DO HAVE OTHERS AVAILABLE WITHIN NURBURG.

DATE : 23rd - 25th SEPT 2011 ( 22nd - 26th using North Sea Ferries )

LOCATION : Nurburg & Spa + Eifel mountain region of Germany

With a huge amount of support from Brian @ 1st-tickets, we have put together what should be a really fun weekend at a sensible cost. The aim is to have some great drives through the German & Belgium countryside whilst incorporating some fantastic classic motorsport & the opportunity to experience european touring with like minded DDK'ers :) Additionally, you don't have to join in with the organised plans & you are free to explore by yourself if that suits better :)

This event is also intended to be 'partner friendly' ( eg it is NOT like CLM ;) ) which is why we have opted for hotel accomodation. As with previous events , most DDK'ers bring their partners & it makes for a really nice atmosphere :)

At this stage we have produced a rough itinerary .. we will fine tune this in the coming months ;)

some extra info from Brian @ 1st-tickets :

With some many room and crossing combinations, the page is a bit busy. However, we have tried to give a much information as possible, including an outline itinerary.

Like last year, members can pay the deposit via Google Checkout. We will then contact them to discuss their preferred crossing times. It will be possible for members to extend their break if they wish, although there will be a crossing supplement for a long stay crossing (between £25 and £40 depending on the crossing route).

For the Hull crossing (overnight sailing), we assume that members would depart on Thursday and return on Monday, but again they can extend their stay at either end if they would prefer.

Finally, speaking with the Hotel owner last week, if all the rooms get booked and there are still members wanting to come on the trip, there are other hotels close by that we could utilise.

Thankyou James,
Sarah and I booked from Hull. Are you doing the same route given you live in the Peoples Republic of Yorkshire ?
In an ideal World we would like to go over by Hull but back home by Calais/Dover just so we can avoid the extra time off work on the Tuesday.
Should I contact Brain at 1st Tickets to see if this is possible ?
(I've tried to leave a message on the reservation form system on line as well)

Looking forward to the trip and many thanks for putting in the effort to organise this.

Will call Brian and inquire about a hotel only package. I may take one of the other hotel options as not to take space away from you guys who will be staying the whole weekend.
