The 'Maverick' Classic Porsche Forum and Classic Porsche Club for Porsche 356, Aircooled Porsche 911, Porsche 912, Porsche 914 & Porsche Replicas. 'We join for the cars but stay for the people'
Have now got the car back from the blasters.
Went better than expected, not too many holes!
Now ready for some shiny new panels.
Let the real pain begin!

ALL RHD OF COURSE!
Should be OK on the panel fit.
The last time I got some from Trevor Hammerworks they fit reasonably well, i.e. my body guy didn't moan for too long.

The work has been progressing sloooooooooowly even though I haven't posted for a while.
The passenger door is now rebuilt and fits properly so we can weld the sill properly and get the car up in the air. The drivers door (from another car) is different. See the top edge of each door below:
As a precaution I thought I would open up the sills to have a look at the baffles as I made a mistake there last time. Of course they needed replacing!
All I can say is I don't think I was the first one to see the heater tubes!

Quick update, but unfortunately no pictures as I forgot my camera!
The passenger side longditudinal is now welded in place and now STRONG with all the baffles and tubing done correctly.
The torsion bar area is finished, just got to weld in the mounting nuts.
The rear seat area is now being worked on as there are loads of pinholes there, looks like it will have to be mostly made new by hand as the panel isn't available. Once thats done then the drivers side longditudinal is next.....
Should have some photos next week.

Hi , I think restoration design do repair panels for the seat wells of a 356, I had a chat with the guy that runs the company a couple of weeks back about the tunnel section they can supply and he was vey helpful.
I am a person of simple pleasures so if you don't have any simple pleasures to offer me, beer, pizza or Porsche bits etc kindly leave me be, XX.
Thanks for that, work has already started there and looks like we can copy it pretty accurately.
