Thai Curry Night in NE Derbyshire/Sheffield - Cancelled

Post by TheEasyLife »

Its been a while (2yrs?) since I organised a curry night in Birmingham and I want to organise an East Midlands(ish) one sooner rather than later.

Specifically I'm thinking of here: http://www.thaiatthetravellers.co.uk/ It is easy to get to from Sheffield and the M1 via J29,30 or the backroads!!! It takes me an hour from Leicestershire on the M1 without speeding to get there. There is a large carpark out front and I'd be happy leaving my 911 there whilst eating there, unlike the carpark near the restaraunt in Birmingham!!

So, is anyone interested in a friday or saturday night? I was thinking either 18th/19th or 25th/26th.

Cheers

James

What happened to East Midlands(ish). Ain't that South Yorkshire. Wonder if they do Yorkshire Pudding and Gravy as a starter.

I'm up for it if I can get a pass.

Definately NE Derbyshire. The fact is has a Sheffield postcode and phone number is just designed to fool you into thinking its in the North.

Sounds good, folks still live in Sheffield not far from here, shall I ask them to give it a test run?

Hi Stuart.

Please feel free. I've been there a year or two ago and the food was good. I wouldn't try to organise a visit to anywhere I hadn't been before!

I used to work in Nottingham (Bulwell) a few years ago and the lads I worked with were all Thai Curry mad. This was great as there is a pub nearby called the Fox and Crown in Basford which is Thai run (aren't they all?) but has a microbrewery attached. Not the place to take the missus at night though as the area the pub is in appears very shady at nighttime but was lovely for food and a local beer on a friday at the end of a busy week. Our manager used to come along too and so 2+ hour lunches discussing life, cars, customers, etc were the norm. Ah, those were the days...

Cheers

Due to a change in circumstances earlier this year I've been unable to spend any time organising this. Please consider it cancelled.

I'll look at re-arranging it when circumstances have changed.

Thanks
