Porsche 912 1966 Project

Post by Jesse »

Hi there!

I pulled this all original 1966 Porsche 912 out of a barn where it had been standing since 1978. The former owner was a rally driver who´d bought the car with the intention to rebuild it to a rally cross car but he never got down to business..

It was sold in Sweden 1966 and I got the first MOT-papers hand written, they state that the car was "light blue" same color it wears today. It was ordered from Porsche by a well known Swedish businessman in the 60´s who had it repainted right after delivery in 1966.

The car has "matching numbers" and came with a set of 15*5,5 fuchses in great condition as well as 2 15" deep dish fuchses.

I already have a 1965 912 which I am restoring at the moment so this one will have to stay on hold for a while but I am hoping to get some help from my father who might get the car as a restoration gift.

My plan is to build a "R" inspired, light weight car and only alter things that can be brought back easily. I wont be building a concours car but a car that can be driven hard and enjoyed!

If anyone has any idea´s please let me know!

Good luck with your project, look forward to seeing it progress..... 8)

Is the plan to keep a 4-cylinder engine or build it with a 911 engine?
