Rock Steady Eddie??? He was staying in my mates house on IOW. I also done a fanzine in the 80's called BritanniaMania - it was a "mickey" take of Martin Dixon's ScooterMania just for our own Scooter Club at first but then after i used to sell it on scooter runs. Martin Dixon used to buy it off me as well and laugh his knickers off.

Will post some pics later of the scooter wraps we do now - Have 1 x GP and 1 x GS panels in at the moment.

If anyone wants to see us wrapping a Ferrari F430 Spider in matt black - go to YouTube and search CREATIVE FX WRAPS. Wrapped Jenson Button's GTR last year and the Audi R8V10 at the top of the signature sculpture Goodwood FOS 2009.

That's enough punting - more scoot pics to follow.....

Michael Caine

Post by Little Rascal 356 »

originally wrapped for my mate Alan - he then caught up with the great man himself, who not only signed the panels but corrected MY mistake in the Get Carter quote. He was unaware of the mistake - we realised after it was installed !! I now own the panels and they are soon to be framed for my office wall. Sadly Alan my mate died last year so they are special in more than one way.

How mental is that??? Heard an interview on the radio with him some years ago about his daughter talking him into doing the voice overs for the Micheal Caine Madness track. He said he'd never do it again as the song had IRA political undertones. Was discussing this subject just this morning !!

Mysterious powers are at work !

Bought an original Li125 series 3 few weeks ago, genuine Italian originality from Marco at Scooter Emporium.
Having an uber sympathetic rebuild ,only getting what it needs ,but with a bit of a cc oomph 8)
Should look at home next to ny '59 NSU Prima .

Really need to start with a 150 barrel to do that, otherwise the 125 barrel ends up too thin.

I understand that there is a aluminium cylinder with Nikasil bore for the 125/150 crankcase, that's what I'd do. I ran a TS1 200 for ten years and the heat dissipation of the ali barrels is a huge improvement.
It was like that when I got here.

 I'm still loving the fact that one of the most lively threads on DDK is about Lambrettas!!

As my Li125 doesn't run then I've no idea how tragically slow it really is - is it really best to "up" it to 150 spec then? I'll only be jogging round on local trips, but do have one big hill on the way to work - I wonder if the 125 would get up it?!?

Simon - i know this sounds mad but dont restore it !! The scooter world is getting a bit "outlaw" nowadays and everyone is starting to prefer original looking bikes. Can pop around and have a look at why it's not running if you want?

Did you mean me ? Reckoning on AF Rayspeed top end kit, all bit in the air at the moment though with regards to that til the engine is stripped.
Thanks for the prices on the the vinyl wrapping of the side panels good food for thought.
Am so bored of my 914 its unreal, hence getting a scooter, the Porsche is in bits and tbh i have no inclination towards it.

Yep, twas you!
Strikes me many go for a 175cc upgrade on anything 125/150 from recent Scootering mags.

'A change is as good as a rest' comes to mind, and I'm in the same boat as you; in need of a bit of therapy, hence restoring a historic go kart this winter, plus a bit on the old 911 hotrod and a bit on the Lola racer too..

The TV is in a 1000 bits and the frame stripped and primered, but away in the garage/shed as a project when i retire and it's worth a bob or three.

[quote="The LD (as you can see) is completely unrestored and will remain that way. The Scuderia markings remain a mystery but the scooter does originate from the Maranello region.

I love the look of this!

If you ever want to sell it can I have first refusal?

It would be uber-cool to pull up at work on it and park it smack in the middle of the usual line up of modern Ducati's.
