Very early white S

Post by Tosh »

Sitting on the A12 between Brentwood and ~Hatfield Peverel today I sat behind an E reg S (gold letters on the back). JCG 1XXE

White/off white in lovely condition and once the wagons got out of the outside lane, being driven

Got a pic on my phone and as I was doing that I suppose I should not have a go at the driver for playing with a sat nav....

I was in my Tank

No DDK sticker that I could see!! I'll set Helen on you!

I was the light blue N reg C-class sitting on your tail in the jam through Witham. I only took the 12 as the M11 was blocked and I really loathe the A12. Spotted you just by the M25 junction but took ages to get past the trucks to get a good look!

Lovely car by the way. Hope your Sat Nav got you there. I assume it's a 66 and a very early S....

yup 1967S it is.
I was in that damn traffic for hours, lovely trip back home though.
I was on my way to Stowmarket to view my Dads old Mercedes 280S.
he bought it new in 1973 and I had tracked down the present owner .
So a fun afternoon out.

That's a nice drive - indeed if you are that way again, I suggest the A130 towards Sudbury and A134 towards Bury and the lanes through lavenham to Stowmarket

There's a decent MB garage in Needham Market should you need it!

Glad your day improved!

Thanks for that tip, you know your way around.
In fact that was the garage I was heading to, Derrick Wells. A charming man and great early Merc enthusiast (and real tennmis player too).
