I don't think they made that many of them and I've never seen or heard of another one in the UK., so it does seem to have some rarity value - even though there are some targaists
out there, I love it.

Getting close now...!
So we're in the final stages; the hard lines have been plated and fitted

The inside of the stacks cleaned out by hand (!! thanks Mike!)

The tops of the stacks plated, powder-coated and fitted

The fan and housing are back from Alan after being chromated and the centre fitted by John M (once again - big thanks, Mike says it looks like it just came out of the factory!)

Turbo valve covers were powder-coated to make them look as original as possible and the new plug leads fitted.

Apparently we're due to get it in the car on Sunday

Tim has repaired the CDI box (apparently it needed a new thyristor to stop a high revs mis-fire) the speed switch has been repaired and the coil given a clean bill of health. Thanks for that Tim and turned around in double-quick time too!

Looking really good, and I bet it will go as well as it looks - will you be putting it on the dyno ?

Thanks everyone, it does look great doesn't it, unrecognisable as the same engine. I suspect it will go as well as it looks as I'm guessing Mr B has been as meticulous on the inner workings and set-up as he has on the obvious stuff on the outside.
I am planning to put it on the dyno, I'm hoping to take it down to Bob Watson's in a couple of months after it settles down - I've no idea how much power it had before hand (it was definitely down on power though), but it would be nice if we can get towards its original 180 - we'll see anyway.
I'll take a hanky when I go to collect it, in case there are any remaining traces of dribble...

Wow Mike, that looks amazing. You're a gentleman and a craftsman, it's been such a pleasure working with you on this project.
Look forward to seeing you in a week or so.

I'm pretty sure that it's thermal resistant paint on the exhaust that John M suggested using, I think you have it on your exhast too John, is that right?
