Nice one Tim, good to see those mounting rings have come in handy.

The socks look nice, but my plan was to use the original airboxes and cut the bottom off the steel boxes and make new to suit the Triumph bodies. Then you don't have to worry when it rains!

It must be SO close to starting it now?

Yes, crank fire, but also there is a dizzy !
I have found a good use for those Marelli Dizzy's - They fill the hole and stop the oil getting out and contamination getting in !
I have to make a better hole plug, but for now its working.
Not quite there for starting it, but yes, soon !

A frustrating weekend, but some (small) progress.
The Fuel filler release, Rubber gasket, filler pipe and now in place.
The new bonnet release cable and latch are in place and working. I'm not happy with the bonnet shut yet, but it's there, and the release is now reliable. I hope to put the fuel tank in soon and that will enable me to fuel up the engine

The frustration ? How long and hard can a simple job like this be ?
Stuck in a narrow single garage, in the cold etc... not able to open the doors properly. Poor light Blah, Blah etc... and then you find that Porsche have "changed" things without asking me ! For instance, the cable for the bonnet release, the threaded rod that joins with the release handle is now longer. Simple fix was to cut it down and re-tap the thread, but it all takes time.
Any part more complete is a positive step forward. I just need to keep the faith and be ready for the 1st drive

2nd drive shaft fitted this weekend, and the oil tank in place....
I was just doing up the bolts that hold the tank to the inner wing and the the bolt sheared off !! So I shut the garage door and took the Boxster out for a drive

It might be a kettle, but it is a really rather good kettle

. Roof off and everything !
