My new 1971 911t targa

Hi.
Finally i can post some pictures of my new 1971 911t targa
It needs some body work and mainly engine and gearbox tuning. The doors and top rubbers must be all changed.

All chromes were painted black, I'd like to back all the chrome again.

Lately I'll think if I repaint it with it's original color "20-10-G". I think is pastel blue.
Nevertheless I think it is in good shape for the € I gave for it.

Well, now it's only a project and I'll keep you updated about the work.

Nice buy! I quite like the brown/beige combination, but Pastel Blue is lovely

+1 for Pastel Blue and chrome. That'll look great.

I think the car below is Crystal Blue (plus it's an Impact Bumper), but it's an amazing look:

i love the colour it is now especially with that interior. always love light blue early Porsche but for me thay have to have a black interior.

Yes, the RHD targa was introduced for the 1973 model year

Another thumbs up for Pastel Blue

( the pic Nick posted is my car).

The colour really changes with the light too - sometimes under artificial light, i.e a petrol station at night, it seems almost lavender.

A most excellent choice for an early car

Going from Lisboa to Sintra on the road Marginal side by side the sea and then Malveira Montain is one of the most nicest rides we can have.

Well, the engine and gearbox are out for rebuilt...

I saw all the gearbox pieces and rings disassembled over a big table, everything very neat and bright

At first sight is not bad at all. Some worn parts to replace, but nothing very expensive... One of the timing chain was very very loose, it was a good idea to take the engine out so it could be fixed.

These are good news. Sooner I'll have the car ready than the sun will shine (i'm so tired of rain...).

Cannot believe what I am seeing.
I have a 1971 911T that started life as Albert Blue. Its American owner spent the earth on it with engine rebuild, gearbox rebuild and anything else it needed from carpets to door pockets. The bills run into thousands. He then went and painted it the same non standard colour as this one. Is there no accounting for taste? I have been planning to put it back to origional but have decided for the time being to just use it and not worry if it gets scratched. If your in South Wales any time and see me going the other way do not panic you are not seeing double its just that there are at least two Yanks with no appreciation of 911 originality.

Must learn to like the color
