Agreed. Similar boyhood - especially as deepest Cornwall had little else to offer and the Newsagent in Padstow was an Airfix & Revell stockist....
TV that was different and spanned generations!! Great.

Superb programme! Have a look at http://www.gateguardsuk.com/index.html

Do you think the Spitfire Club Great Britain get sniffy about people having fibreglass replicas?

Cheers! :drunken:

True, true..... What would you give for a ride in the back seat of Caroline Grace's Spitfire. I have sat on her tail, as it were. When the Vulcan came into Bruntingthorpe a mate and I were on 'guard' duty around her Spitfire. It was a very windy day and when she was going to leave she asked me to sit on the tail whilst she taxied round to the runway. As you can see from this rather faded picture it was a bit brezy on the back!! Good fun though.

I guess it's the same reason that Graham's Lola project is so fascinating, part Meccano, part Airfix kit, part Porsche! 8)

Cheers! :drunken:

Still got all my kits in my parents loft, assuming they haven't had a clear out to make Dad's Dungeon or something.

Both myself and the missus really enjoyed it!

Didnt realise it was all going on just a stones throw from me (telford / cosford).

You'd have thought that the brummy in cornwall would have been a bit happier given the large amount of cash that he might have got / the free advertising!

I'll be at the cosford museum on sunday for the breakfast club meet so i might pop in and see if the model is still there!

I hope he did get payed handsomely, I think he did a really excellent job. That look on his face was exactly the look I have when a customer, who knows nothing about the process, turns up and starts telling me that what he wants is going to be a piece of p!ss to make and can he have it the day after tomorrow.
