Yup, it wasn't purple but Seeblau #816.

And the owner took my turbo back to where I worked...I offered to take him home and promptly.... lost the turbo on a roundabout.

Yes, Mr Bainbridge, that'll be the new suspension settling in rather than schoolboy error:?::lol:

On the other hand, the man offered me a cup of coffee (and a good shot of something strong for his nerves) but realised he left his house keys. Hence he proceeded to climb on a ladder and jumped through the open bedroom window to open the door.

Ahh the fun we have on DDK....

My excuses are;

a) I only saw the car briefly from a distance turning off a large roundabout - I didn't even catch the plates
b) It was extremely sunny - which for this part of the world is something we haven't seen for weeks...I was dazzled Your Honour
c).... it really did look purple!! - I'm a girl and I know these things
..and d) and e).

In artificial light - particularly at a garage at night, mine goes almost lavender...so think on!
Cheers,
Vicki.

It was me!
On my way to Mikey Bainbridges to have some engine fettling.

I then took Berts turbo down to him in Notts and then he took me back to Northants, which was a ....er....memorable journey!!
Jeez Bert you certainly keep your 300 horses on their toes (hooves?!)

Great to meet you and thanks for the lift!

sure! i bought it 25 years ago from Switzerland. Did a lot of track days in the eighties whilst using it nearly every day for the first couple of years.
I have done over 100k miles in it mostly around europe. It's had a couple of engine re builds, nothing serious on it's original engine. Sports suspension settings 29 mm torsion bars thicker arb. Had new sills and painted years ago.

Like most things ..the more you use it the better it gets!

Beautifulllllllllll

Pic obviously taken about 4.30 because that looks seableau through and through. I love that colour on an RS (obvious reasons) and like the ferryman said big respect on your long term use.

Lets see it sometime on a DDK event. I can dream about the past.

Mike
