How to use Google Maps.

I might be teaching most of you how to suck eggs, but as a reminder, here is an explanation.

Enter, www.google.co.uk , into your browser.

In the top left corner click the ‘MAPS’ link

Click on ‘get directions’

Enter your start point into ‘A’ , for example ‘St Bees, Cumbria’

Enter your finish point into ‘B’ , for example ‘ Hardknott Pass, Eskdale’

Click on the button ‘ Get Directions ‘

Google maps will now produce a route between these 2 locations .

To add an additional destination , click on the ‘ add destination’ link which will open a new field.

For example, into ‘C’ add ‘ Ambleside’

You can keep adding additional destinations until you have created your perfect route ☺

When you have completed your route, Google maps offer the facility to print it out & create a detailed junction plan at the same time.

To do this , click on the ‘Print’ tab located in the top right of the map. This should open up a new window with a list of the full directions.

Within this window, click the tick-box at the top to ‘include large map’

Next click the ‘MAPS’ tab which is located in the top left after ‘Show for all steps ‘

This should now have produced detailed maps of each junction on your created route.
