Hello all,
it's time to start on a new project after having finished the one we worked on for a long time and is now for sale here :

I bought a 911T from an old guy that had spend almost all his savings in getting the car in 100% tip top shape and he wanted to make a concours car out of it.
But as for many also this guy had been struck by the economical crisis and had to sell of his 'baby'.
Anyway this is the dreamcar you want to buy, ALL and I mean ALL mechanical things have been replaced and the Engine and Transmission have been totally Rebuilt to 2.7 RS specs, the tranny has been rebuilt to S ratio's.
Almost too much to post here, I have a huge stack of bills and almost 20k euro's has been put in the car.

We ( alex and Bas ) have decided to build an early RS touring version like the very first prototype so maybe no ducktail, we decide later.
For now the colour will be Slate Gray, wich I think is pretty nice because you don't see much of those around.
We are stripping the car right now, I'll keep you all posted here when we have new pics etc.

special thanks to Ian Highfield for his very detailed thread of his removal of the suspension etc, you got us inspired to begin with this thing !

very badly installed front tank support. needs to be replaced as well.

Alex and Bas.

You are going the other way around to me. I started with a great rust free shell and then did the interior and now the suspension etc. You have the good mechanicals and have the bodywork to do - I cannot do bodywork so will follow this with interest.

I have lots of threads and photos of the interior job I did.

Search for Author 'Highfield' and Subject '73T - ' on DDK and Pelicanparts.

got the front suspension out today and I had some time to clean the front strut ( is that the right word ? ).

realtively easy job, but a good start in getting things shiny and ready to be bolted on.

I rekeyed the locks because the old doorhandles where sanded and painted the beautifull burgandy red :oops:

brought some stuff to the zinc plater ( many to come ) turned out nice.

after dissasembling the front suspension brought the parts to the powder coater and see the result :

cleaned and checked the steering rack.. turbo tie rods where already installed.

I decided to change the freshly restored 901 transmission with a 915 , am talking with someone from the ddk forum about swapping the tranny's.

today is the day we are going to remove the engine+trans from the chassis, haven't done that before so I hope the book from Wayne dempsey will guide us through ! :? :?

also decided to to get some sun on our heads , so we bought a roof clip with working sunroof.

the pillars are a bit short but according to our body man it's workable.

Nice progress shots, and reminds me to get a move on with mine.

I have not done the engine / trans out job, so pictures and comments on that one when you do it please.

just finished the engine and trans removal, piece of cake with the dempsey book with it , it took us 2,5 hours.
but all stuff was new what we had to unbolt so that went quite a bit faster than unscrewing bolts that have been sitting for ages..

took several pics of the wires and where they all lead to.

it took me some time to locate the speedometer cable, wasn't well documented on any books

someone told us that the coupler had to be taken apart like this :

axles came of pretty easy

anyone have a tip how the other end of the axles seperates from the braking disk etc ? is it bolted al the way thru ?

after checking everything it was time to unbolt the 4 remaining bolt that keeps the engine and trans to the chassis.

Hi james, maybe you haven't read the beginning of the story.
I bought the car like this the previous owner renewed everything as far as mechanicals .
that's probably why it took not very long to get it out ! :wink:

I had read the story but I tend to find the 911 engine doesn't stay clean for very long due to air being blown all over it :lol:
