1963 Porsche 356C Original RHD - SOLD

Post by Steven »

CAR NOW SOLD

Reluctant Sale. £15,000

After much consideration I've decided to put my car up for sale.

THE FACTS
1963 Porsche 356C
6 volt system
Matching numbers
Rare right hand drive UK car
I bought the car 6 years ago as 'restored'
Currently red, but the original colour is Irish Green
Black Vinyl Interior (NOT leather)
It had an engine rebuild about 7 years ago
Vehicle in West Yorkshire

THE GOOD STUFF
The car has just passed it's MOT
Recent full service by Strasse. Where Dave Sunderland said it was one of the best driving 356's he'd driven in a long time. In fact last week I drove it from Leeds to Bristol and back without a hitch.

THE BAD STUFF
The car recently had some welding done to pass its MOT at this time we discovered that it's time to bite the bullet and do some more restoration work. The car needs £10,000* spending on it to stop the rot and replace what's already become corroded (including a new front clip). I've been told it's well worth doing and at the end I would have a £25,000 car, and a very nice one at that. If you know Lee in Knaresborough you can have a chat with him, he did the recent welding for the MOT and has a reasonable idea of the car's condition.
*£10,000 was the estimate from a Porsche Specialist, if you can do the work yourself, perhaps you can do it for less.

Some of the work I've had done to the car, whilst I've owned it include, new oil cooler, new clutch plate, new 050 distributor (which was fitted whilst trying to find a fault which ended up being dust in the petrol tap, so I've still got the 020 one as well), new master brake cylinder, new coil, new regulator.

PM me if you're interested.

It looks pretty bad, but much of it would be sorted with a new front clip and the wheels would be pretty simple to sort. Like I said if you know Lee in Knaresborough he can give you a run down. If not I can get his estimate of what would needs doing..

It's got a from May MOT so it's good to go for this Summer.

A truely lovely car, good luck with the sale 8)

My wife fell in love with it back on the Northern Weekend of 2006, and she was using the camera so I 'll limit my photo spamming of your thread to these four! 8)
