Tax – Mot October 2008
Ok so my infamous car is up for sale. I have owned this car for almost 4 years and have been steadily updating it. I have so far mechanically rebuilt this car and just need to have it painted to finish it.
Engine: Carerra 3.2
Total rebuild, by Neil Bainbridge of BS Motorsport. The case was split, the bearing were replaced and so was anything that was suspect. This engine features an ARP bottom end, a Steve Wong chip, Flowmaster muffler, Open airbox. This car is fast, torqey and pulls like a train in every gear. Its only done around 1500 miles since its rebuild in 2007.
Gearbox:
Totally rebuilt by Neil Bainbridge of BS motorsport. The gear box is great and features a factory short shift kit.
Brakes:
This car features Carerra 3.2 brakes all around which were sent off for complete reconditioning. The brakes are awesome. I have also fitted BF-Goodridge stainless braided hoses. This car is servo assisted.
Suspension:
This car was set up by Neil Bainbridge at BS Motorsport on his corner balance table. As mentioned the car has been set up for fast road, lowered and with 2 degree’s of negative camber.
The complete suspension system was dismantled lubricated, inspected and re-assembled. The suspension features all new Bilstien Sports shocks all around and front Strutt Brace. We also changed the rear torsion bars for some stiffer hollow 28mm bars on the rear.
I can honestly say the car drives awesome and handles like a true sports car.
The great thing is that when the car was weighed in came in at just tipping 1000kg mark.
Wheels:
Porsche Turbo Fuchs 8x16 and 9x16 on the rear. These are fetching big money and really give the car a filled out Hot rod look.
Body:
This car has been back dated to look early, with a Rutherford Engineering front ‘S’ bumper and ‘RS’ rear bumper. Original steel front long hood bonnet.
The car also runs 911R Front and Rear tail lights as supplied by Andy ‘The Man’ Boyle.
Interior:
The car is pretty much as I got it inside. I was planning on instaling a RS lightweight carpet kit from AppBizz, which is supplied with the car. I was actualy planning on installing it after the car was re-painted.
The seats are Nurbergring BF Torino’s, with custom sliders and the passenger side which flips up to allow access to the rear.
Steering duties are handled by a Momo Prototipo which is nicely aged to suit the car.
I have modified the accelerator pedal to allow heel and toe downshifting as per articles on Pelican Parts forum.
I am also supplying two new inertia reel seat belts with the car.
Body:
The body is in fair condition not having been restored but features a little surface rust, bubbles here and there, scratches and fading. When the car is re-painted many of the niggle will need attending to.
The front wings have had the lips rolled to allow perfect clearence for the wheels.
I was planning on having the body restored by the chap who painted Glenn Watkins 2.7 Carerra (Best Porsche at Classic Le Mans 06) and was quoted 4k after he looked over the car. This is obviously for a show quality job.
I was planning on painting the car Porsche Arrow blue as it left the factory as its an outstanding colour. However as the car is mechanically sound the new owner can finish it as they see fit. Arrow Blue, Black, Blood Orange or Even Viper Green would look awesome.
The car ain't perfect, but its a perfect base for a HOT ROD 911. Or drive her as she is...
I am asking 15,750 for the car. I have spent well over 20k on the car to this point. There would be very little point in selling for less.
