Vodka Tovarich, nibnosko Russian..... Merseysider through and through, as you can see. I guess I'll have to check out some locking wheelnuts when I get home!
That later car is on their website in the restoration section and indeed it does look great - I didn't see her up there but heard that mine will be 'very beautiful' as well.
Thanks for the interest - I hope to get to any meets when I'm home in early March then again whenever I'm up there.
It's been the childhood dream finally coming true and the light is at the end of the tunnel, getting closer, and I'm 100% sure it's going to be worth it!

I just got back from a day on the road to find some more progress photos on my mail - she's progressing nicely I think.
4 weeks today exactly, I shall be arriving in Dover, heading for Kent for an overnight stop before going up to the Wirral.
Not that I am counting each minute and imagining the crossing on the ferry...
Actually, I just completed 836km in my Smart car in the last 24 hours. Not as tortuous as one might imagine, honest...
It ran fine but is a little scary in crosswinds at 150km/hr!

Interesting use of clothes pegs...!!!
I'll post some more photos when I get the chance
Regards to all for a good weekend,
Paul

Hi Paul,
Is it only two weeks now? You must be champing at the bit to say the least! Your car is looking fantastic, and it is such a re-birth that I reckon that you should have a launching ceremony, like a ship! Except don't break a bottle on her......
Looking fantastic though, a credit to the Freisinger team! When she's finished stick a few pics on my thread please?
What a build-up though, I don't think I could take it, it'd be "Nurse, more bromide, and a cold bed-bath.....
"
Cheers,
Steve.

Hi Vic, you are right - there is a huge amount of NOS in Manfred's place, sitting in corners, hanging off walls and that's the reason they are moving about 8 miles down the road; tons more space.
I have to say Steve, Nursey is getting a pretty hard time at the moment but the bed baths do help on a regular basis....
Still not getting the keys though!

I have to admit, in the beginning, I was a little reticent to put that amount of money into something however, now, I think it's going to be well worth it. There's no worry about dodgy bodges, crash history and replica cars - it's going to be perfect....
I did have a wander around their workshop - it's quite a sprawling place.
Mine is being built up next to their stunning Blue lightweight and those two are the last ones being completed in the old place.
There's an interesting 'foyer' full of race cars, stored cars and interestingly, a dispay case of models....
I think that "as new" car might have been in the new workshop - they have been shifting stuff over for several months and Manfred thought it would be a year to complete the move.
I didn't see it there when I visited though it does look an interesting prospect.
That lightweight was up for €250k when I enquired as to what he had available in the summer..... a bit too high for my pockets.
No doubt, there will be others on the way in 2008 - it's great to see such care being taken.

Well, another short delay - it's like some evil torture....
Another couple of weeks however, I won't be around till mid-April now to collect her so it looks like Spring will be well and truly Sprung for the trip back.
Here's some of the latest shots - getting there!
