Bahama yellow 356C

Post by Burma-Shave »

Just surfing nether regions of DDK while at home with man-flu..

So, some pics of Kathryn for the gallery..
Originally light ivory, changed to bahama yellow in '72, recaro seats added then, too.
Currently has big bore kit, webers, K+N, 12V, electronic ignition, hi torque starter, 3 point recoil belts. Cheers!

I was thinkin the same thing about the seats. Are they modified 911 recaro's or are they out of something completely different?

They look like later ('70's) generic Recaro sport seats that have been recovered in vinyl with basketweave centres.

This type of seat was available as aftermarket fitment to many European cars of the period - BMW 2002's, Opel Kadetts, etc - often now seen for sale on ebay in Germany.

I was thinking that at first but the bases look like early 911 ones and the centre bolster on the back rest goes all the way to the top like on 911 recaro's. Its just the side bolsters on the backrest that look different don't you think?

(apologies for going off topic and being anal about recaros  )

Oo, thanks!
Fraid I don't know about the seats, other than them being there since the 70's. They look very much 'factory' rather than modifications of something else.
Engine was in good health - just needed effectively putting back together with new gaskets, and we're using replacement 86mm P and C cos it was too cheap not to! So Mike's ready when I am - he is getting the heads together as we speak and I will bring the barrels to him on the Friday 29th, go and see the family, bring the complete engine back up on the Sunday..saves posting the barrels as they are heavy barstewards and I don't want em bashed about.
..quite excited about picking it up..

VG65 - have we met? The way you write, we could almost be related..
