welcome to DDK Jason,

you'd hate the 914. it needs someone whos enjoys thrashing a car then tinkering with it so its ready for another thrashing.

Hi!

been here some time but just lurking....

I like the thrashing part but the only tinkering I do is with autobrite Supa Snow, a pressure lance and a microfibre cloth!

Guess not for me then....but I do feel the dark side of pre-impact bumpers looming....a certain member wants to sell me his 73RS rep and I know I'll love it if I go and see it....not sure pocket or wife will appreciate it!

Are we organising any sort of East Midlands run down to the Ragley farce?

the older cars are much more fun

what I would say is that a good friend of mine bought a 73 RS rep when he had a 993 C4S and loved the way the early car drove but just couldn't get on with the gearbox (which I found OK). Ended up selling them both and buying a 360 Modena!
1966 912 Karmann Coupe - polo red.
1972 914/6 GT replica - 2.7 - signal orange.
1961 Standard 217 Tractor.
2003 Boxster S.
1967 Alfa Giulia Sprint GT Veloce.

He should have tried a GT3 mk1 with short shift.....he'd have thought the RS rep a doddle

PCGB is a farce. I think you'll find all the 'good' people who care about the cars & heritage going else where leaving the club as a branch of Porsche UK catering for all the new car purchasers & caring about little else

I know what you both mean - but the 964RS and 993RS forums there are probably the most active of any forums for these derivatives.....and that's where my heart still lies.

I almost look at the forums specialising as follows:-

PCGB - 964 & 993 all derivatives

DDK - Classic

911uk/Titanic - GT3

Pistonheads - Turbo & GT

968UK - 968

Porsche-1 - 924/44/28

Boxa.net - Boxster

Know where you are coming from but its looking good weather for Sunday and there is going to be a lot of nice pork on display....has to be worth the trip...just ignore the Board and the politics...got to be good to beat classics at the castle though

I have to say that Helen's old car was superb, but that is beyond top money for a 4-cylinder 914.....

I will watch with interest!

regards
Rob

(PS: Helen - I hope you are still looking at getting another one)
