Wow, stunning scenery in Scotland. The cars also look fantastic. Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed scrolling through the photos of the trip.

Have you guys done this event before? I may have missed it but what was the mileage driven? These are the kinds of events that make ownership of these old cars worthwile :)

Hi Brian, this was a one-off event organised by a couple of DDK'ers.

In the past we've visted Classic Le Mans (twice, third planned), Yorkshire (twice, again organised by a DDK'er), plus plenty of smaller events. The Scotland trip was probably our largest event so far (I think) although Classic LeMans '08 is looking to be a very big 'do' for us as well 8) .

All of these events so far have been very successful, mainly due to the good natured spirit of the membership. Perhaps you'll visit us soon, and see what we're about  .

P.S. I was lucky enough to get a lift to the event, from Surrey (South of England) upto Scotland. I think we covered about 1750 miles, more or less, with 700 or so of those being in Scotland.

Hi Brian the total offical mileage for the event was 711 miles but we did give people several option during the weekend. I did a total of 907 miles in a borrowed car which was already in Scotland! Do you fancy doing it sometime?

' I glanced up to the rear view mirror and then my eyes flicked down in a split second to the rev counter. My hand held the gear level purposefully and my grip on it tightened slightly. I tensed a little as I slipped into second with a blip of the throttle. A second flick to the mirror and I buried the pedal to the carpet and .....wwwoow, the car launched forwards with a cacophony of sound from that glorious flat six. Into third and the dotted white line became a blurr and the high buttress sides right and left flashed past in a sea of grey granite as I hurtled towards the horizon at the head of the glen.........'

Thanks Hot66.

Yes, Alex is pretty handy with a camera.

There would have been a lot more "action" shots but a major focus issue with one of his cameras led to them being way too soft.
