My thoughts were to head North into the Dales and run across via Hawes & Ribblehead, toilet stop in Ingleton, then upto the Motorway.

After the Dales we could do the A6 over Shap to keep off the motorway for a bit longer and get on at Penrith or Carlisle even - from Kendal towards the North, the A6 is wide, fast and usually pretty deserted 8)
2006 RHD 997 Carrera (but DDK remains in my heart - also now no longer)
1972 LHD 2.4T with '73 2.4T CIS motor - gone to a new DDK home
1994 RHD 993 Carrera - gone!
1968 LHD 911L - was the Wife's but now in new hands :-(

at the risk of being burnt at the stake for heresy, have to say I'm with James here, don't really fancy a 8-9 hour drive over 2 days to end up looking a load of Volkswagens, ............but will go with the flow 8)
cheers, Mike.

Whilst I may stand it, I'm with James & Mike on the VW show. I would expect to crack up on, have lunch somewhere significantly further North from here, pop into Biggar for a bit, depending on how long it's taken for the first 250 miles... then maybe then head off up.

For us it would be a more relaxed start to get to Loch Tay mid afternoon rather than in the evening. :)

If we just turn up at Loch Tay about 3-4pm do they have everything planned out, or do we need instructions from our leader :)

..just noticed the Dentist's message further down, I await instruction :)

I'll be in the (no longer than an hour looking at cars in a field with my wife camp) so would like to put my name down for the early convoy heading for Loch Tay.

Can't wait for the weekend. Am heading down to Pembrokeshire on Friday before heading up North in the middle of next week. Currently my car has no rear axles  or roll bars

I love a tight deadline

As per my PM Mike, I'm ducking out of the Lakes stay on Monday night and going to push on and get a fair bit further South as I need to attend a presentation on Tuesday in Norwich.
