Re: Quaife ATB needs longer crownwheel bolts

HI JW yes it is the same as the N.L.A. ZF LSD out-put flange/hard to find/lots of££££ when found Quaife have made the 911/914, 915 diff case the same and as beeing in a engineering/cost cutting, did not look any further than the end product that will only fit the SC/3.2 915 box with no prob' (well m...

Re: Quaife ATB needs longer crownwheel bolts

HI Mike

yes, you will need a spacer for the end of the shaft into the diff, check the length of the shaft and the inside of the diff, I think you will find it is around 5-6mm to get some clearance

I have taken this up with Quaife, and thay seem to be NOT intrested

Re: Quaife ATB needs longer crownwheel bolts

HI Mike which CWP have you in the box, 7:31 or 8:31, is the diff fine spline or corse, if you have a 7:31 CWP you will need longer diff bolts and a spacer for the CW, or cobble it with diff shims to set the bearing pre-load and back lash, if you have fine splines, the shafts should fit in and be the...

Re: Engine machining?

HI 911hillclimber

unless you are going to change the pistons, cams and lift the CR on the engine, it is not worth the ££ with the pistons in there at the moment

Re: 915 Gearbox 8:35 CWP

HI Ross79 I take it your gearbox is a Mechanical speedo drive , as you are taking out the 7:31 CWP, if you are NOT running the speedo, a later 8:31 will go in, you will need to change the diff bolts and need a spacer to get the Crown wheel in the correct position, if you have the early/original diff...

Re: 2.4T Engine rebuild advice

HI Jonathan the head studs should be OK I take it the engine has cast-iron cylinders, if you go to-far on the O/S you may run into over heating prob's, as there is no piston jets in the crank cases, some con-rod mods can help over come this if you are making the engine bigger and lifting the C/R, yo...

Re: SC cams

HI

the SC cams will not fit a early engine, the bearings are to big for the cam carriers, whether it be 3 or 4 bearing up to 1974/75, even if you change the cam carriers, the valves will be to-long

HI redrobin911

I would not bother cutting the pipes either, as they are the wrong ones any way, they are off the engine , fan housing to heat-exchanger pipes are black, engine to control flap's are RED
