Thanks for the explanation Mike. What diameter are these wheels by the way?

Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......
For sale on Marco Marinello’s Elevenparts.com website. Description as follows: The Porsche 916 engine is the most unknown but also the most fascinating race engine Porsche, especially Hans Mezger, developed. Work started early 1967. For an initial production parts were ordered for 10 engines. They w...

Re: Lightweight bodyshell - tired but still in one piece
So you are going to transplant your 74 VIN into the 73 shell and write off your existing shell?

Re: For the love of Steering Wheels.....
Mike, I had an email from Porsche Classic today advertising new 964 sport steering wheels. They look the same as yours but have the split seam on the vertical spoke. Does this mean they are not 964 correct?

Great period piece. Hadn't realised how much has changed since 1982 - not just in motor racing.jb wrote:I found this recently and enjoyed it - a take on le mans 1982

Re: Hedingham - Classics at The Castle 2017
Just want to extend my thanks to the CATC organisers for pulling together another great event. This is the only "Porsche KG" focussed event in the UK and I for one really missed its absence last year. Fred, Simon and Jamie put in a huge amount of effort on our behalf - I think they are the...

But is it still a Porsche if the engine wasn't designed in Stuttgart? I suspect Metzger's involvement is PR spin.

The hollow Nadellas were used on 904s. They were also an option in the 911 Sports Purpose catalogue as late as 68.

Re: Is it madness...
I've often thought about a 3.0CSL. Love the idea of it but have never driven one. Are they a let down compared to an early 911?

Re: Inner tubes with AVon tubeless tyres
If it helps I have used Avon 185/70 on my 7R rims for track day and fast road work and they worked fine. I run with inner tubes!

Re: Inner tubes with AVon tubeless tyres
I think a 205/70 on the rear will affect the rake of the car. Saw this combination a while ago and it looks a bit "Whacky Racers".

I also enjoy Harry Metcalfe's reviews on his YouTube channel. Very good considering he seems to film most of it himself.

New Top Gear doesn't work without the political incorrectness.
Mind you TGT doesn't work without the BBC being the butt of the joke.
I hope they settle their differences at some point and get back together.
