Unless prices are considerably lower over the pond, $15K is not going to buy you a reliable late pre impact bumper car in today's market. With that kind of budget I would only consider a 76/77 Carrera 3.0 or a slightly later SC. But even for those relatively cheap cars you'd need a larger budget in ...

This is a very interesting thread. I wonder how critical all these things really are. I've been storing my car for about 5 years in an ordinary garage, with no heater, sealing or dehumidifier. In the winter when I'm not using it much I put a dust cover on it too. Nothing has rusted, not even the bra...

915 transmission oil quantity
Just about to change the gear oil in my '73 2.4
But I'm struggling to find out how much gear oil I actually need?
I'm going to use Swepco 201, which seems to be available in 3.8 litre containers. Basically, will 3.8 litres be enough?
many thanks,
Pete.

Humidity will have a significant influence on corrosion rate and will also assist with galvanic effects compared to dry air. All corrosion reactions are strongly temperature dependant and the higher the temperature the worse the corrosion. If the humidity is low enough then there won't be much rust...

Been wondering about the best winter storage method for a while. Been keeping my car in a well ventilated concrete garage for the last 5 years, with an indoor car cover over the winter months. Never had any problems. Car has always remained dry, with no rust problems. I was thinking of heating the g...

Both are very different from a random opinion from someone who has not seen the car, absolutely the critical thing here. On the other hand, and in fairness of balance, there was a certain recommendation to view from the very same person elsewhere on the forum: Just to clarify, I was only commenting...
