Re: Assessing an unknown engine

Hi Rob, I think a custom machined straight bar and plastigauge might be a better way to check this. Do you really think it could now be out of true after line boring from factory? Or are you concerned that some apertures are worn due to spun bearings?

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?

Hi Neil, Something like this should work from your 6V system. Can't vouch for quality. Just make sure you run it from a fused 6V feed. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/355513957335?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338268676&toolid=10044&customid=EAIaIQobChMIzMr...

Re: Clutch Problems

If it's not the clutch, check linkage bushes. They wear and/or go brittle and break. I had exactly these symptoms last year. Turned out to be the plastic cup that sits in the ball & socket joint beneath the gear stick. The cup had broken resulting in excessive play. Worth also checking the bushe...

Re: Another early S bites the dust

im surprised that gets a CAT B and must be broken, looks easily salvageable to me? Wondered that too. Was thinking about how intense the fire got and the extent of damage (burned out hoses, electrics, magnesium inferno, extent of structural damage, etc ...). Rear interior looks ok, so must have bee...
