Re: Rear handbrake/emergency brake shoes .....
Did mine today (later car - '82 SC) and it was not the easy job I was expecting! New rear disc change revealed shoes were knack'd but while one side went on OK (bit of technique to learn here) the other required some small 'massaging' aka angle grinding a bit off the adjuster before the disk would g...

Mine's the one on the right..... Audi will still be going long after the other two have broken down! However, which is worth more these days??

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
True.... Pipe looked ready to explode any second however new one is made of such super-thick rubber that perhaps I'd have been good for another 20 years! For my next trick I'm going to change it without loosing tooooo much oil!

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Started to change rear discs to discover parking brake shoes were knackered and oil cooler to tank 'S' pipe was seriously perished. One hour job turns into 3 days....

Re: Classic Porsche Magazine?
I've found I just don't like reading online as much as the real deal. I do hope they will eventually print and post out the missing magazines, there must be 2 or 3 missing by now.... Keith?

Re: SSI EXHAUST/EXCHANGERS
Just looked at type 911. Over £1000 + VAT new, Dansk pre-'74 or SC SSIs, so I think the £800 I paid for a nearly new pair a year ago is reasonable. Your problem may be finding a set, they don't rust so why would somebody get rid of them?
Good luck. Chris.

Re: OT Cycle Turbo Trainers
I use a BKool trainer, quite basic compared to some but good enough. It came with a year's membership to their own online service but it is nowhere near as popular or good as Zwift. I have always promised myself I'd join Zwift for the winter but TBH, by the time I've dragged the laptop up to the she...

Re: Garage clear out
HI there, can you clarify what exactly you mean by "Upto 1988 Ali floor peddle cover with stops etc £70.00" floorboards that go under pedals and ali covers or just bolt on covers for 3 pedals? RHD? Also, the two concept gearbox coolers, I have a 915 with a cooler, will one of these represe...

Why does it need oil cooler pipes? And if it does, paint 'em black!

Re: Non Porsche - Cannondale CAAD10 road bike
I don't need another bike (I'm told) and anyway it's too big for me, but a lot of bike for the money. Good luck with the sale, I hope you buy a more comfy bike rather than hang up your wheels completely.

Re: 968 Sport or 944 S2.... as a daily driver?
"all seem to have cloth seats as opposed to leather which I’d prefer" Agreed, but leather seats from a 944/911 will all fit. Plenty of leather electric sport seats available from hot rod builds as they are very heavy (but very comfy) nearly all of which will need some refurbishment to the ...

Re: 968 Sport or 944 S2.... as a daily driver?
I've owned both over the years, an oval dash 2.5 944 and a 968 sport. Both were bought with 100k on the clock, both engines went on to about 160k with me and were still not burning a drop of oil when they were sold. 944 is more basic, way slower and less 'modern' in feel and ride, but 968s can be tr...

Re: Tin Ware to Heat Exchanger Pipe
That orange silicone hose is HORRIBLE!! The problem is that the spiral wire does not bond to the silicone and comes all un-wound. I recently bought some black neoprene spiral wound hose in exactly the same size, but the wire DOES bond to the neoprene, so remains bound to the hose. Got mine from Revo...
