Re: 1963 Porsche 911

Ooooh, good call! Is it too late to specify that I'd like my big fake Fuchs polished with black detailing? And that I'd like my indicators to be orange rather than clear?

Re: Where would I find the chassis number?

Brilliant, thanks for that Stuart.
Not too worried about the tax-free status - it won't be back on the road this year and next year it'll be free anyway. :)

Where would I find the chassis number?

Probably a question I should have asked before I bought my 914, but hey... I've already done a vehicle enquiry on the DVLA site, seems it was registered in '78 but was actually built in '73. The speedo in km/h would seem to validate that. Now I don't at all mind that it's currently an R-reg. But if ...

I love that picture - and I loved the story behind it when you posted it on VZi. :D

Re: Grafitti Porsche

I utterly love that. But I'd be wary of having a Banksy rat on it. I'd be afraid of coming out to it one morning to see some of King Robbo's toss painted over it.

You'll find another compressor and blast cabinet easily enough. There's a roup at Thainstone once a month.

For houses, try looking at http://www.aspc.co.uk for an idea of what's about.

Was about to post 'Don't be daft, all the letterheads say A...', then realised he's probably using his Sunday name on them...

Re: Should I Ship All My Porsche Parts From U.S. Back With M

Thanks! It's also worth considering that Reese's Pieces and fruit-flavoured Life Savers (the only good American sweets) are impossible to find over here, so if you're keen on them I'd maybe bring a box or six over as well.
Do you know where you're moving to over here yet?

Re: Should I Ship All My Porsche Parts From U.S. Back With M

Bring as much as you can, even if you don't think you need it. I'm wanting an early 911 project sooner rather than later, and it'd be nice to know there was a nearby parts source! And if you could bring over some all-red 914 rear lenses, I'd be eternally grateful... :)

Is it the one that was for sale in Newcastle or thereabouts? At £300 I was tempted. I even started a thread about doing exactly what you propose. I bought a 914 instead.

They keep popping up at the side of my screen when I'm on Friendface. Loving pretty much all of their hotrod builds.
