I have taken a few of these speedo's apart now, it is relatively easy. Once you have carefully prised the peened edge of the bezel back , the rest is easy. If you open it up, there should be a PCB or something. Check soldered joints for cracking around the component leads. Reflow poor joints with a little fresh solder.

This will work to repair a scratch on the element, but won't recreate the whole element.... We had a Heated rear window replace in a golf cabrio by the windscreen insurance cover once. It wasn't broken, just no HRW. Took it to Autoglass who processed the claim, and replaced the window. May work for ...

Unless it is a '69 in which case it has a metal strap across the back, held in place with knurled nuts.

Blocked fuel tank breather ? Causes a vacuum in the tank, most likely to starve out when most fuel is being used. Do you get a rush of air into the tank when you remove the filler cap ?
Just ideas.... might help... all the best.

I believe it is actually the speedo itself. If you touch the glass, it is actually vibrating/buzzing. I'll check the cable any way. Thanks

There is a leaflet from the DVLA or something like... and I believe the principal is dead easy for classic cars. I believe there is no import duty for car over a certain age. My car was imported from Italy a year ago (not by me) and I have spoken to a guy who imports maserati Biturbo's. Looking at t...
