Hi All I don't think anyone mentioned doing a cheap job its maybe not that necessary to terrify a 356 owner by saying it will cost ten thousand pounds to rebuild his engine, I suppose it could cost that much if it was shot to bits and had to be saved for matching numbers purposes or similar, and I m...

Its that ST again...

Hi All currently on Ebay is that white ST replica that was discussed on here a while back, I think back then it was on Pistonheads, its described as being converted by RS.com in Wales and is currently missing its engine and gearbox although it actually looks ok and I know it must have cost someone a...

Hi All, I get rather irritated by the nonsense that gets bandied about regarding 356 engines and rebuilding them, providing the crankcase is not in need of a line bore and your not after some cloud cuckoo land horse power figures a 356 or 912 engine rebuild is not a disaster, the later the engine th...

Gas welding guages etc

Hi all, I have a gas welding kit to dispose of, the oxygen bottle is empty and the frequency with which I was using this stuff does not justify the cost of a BOC contract, the guages and torch are in good shape and flame arrestors are fitted, the guages are Safir , the lines are perished but that se...

Hi Bruce the Clarke is gutless in that it now has to be turned right up to get any kind of penetration, on the lower settings it just deposits a spattery weld on top of the material, its as if as it kind of strikes its arc the motor stops, I was wondering if the contacts in the solenoid that are pul...

Migs and shipping..

Hi All ten years ago I was driving my tatty RHD A coupe to work on a regular basis and had lent my A racer to my little sister to drive, she remarked it didn't seem to like going below eighty... The RHD car was sold on and a bit later returned to be extensively rebuilt and the A racer was taken of t...

Is it just me or just it look rather paggered around the left hand end of the rear torsion tube, its not unusual to see American cars with really beaten up floors but that looks like its been stoved in and bashed out.

if your not sure if its TDC on the firing stroke or TDC on the exhaust stroke and don't want to go poking things in the plug hole (which won't tell you anyway) and don't want to remove rocker covers, find a bit of rubber hose slightly larger than the plug hole stick it in there or at least hold it u...

SWB 911 child seat seat belt

Hi all, this is a rear seat belt made up by the seat belt specialist Quickfit, it was made to secure a child seat in the back of a '66 912 and worked very well, the later SWB cars have a seat belt anchorage built into the rear shelf a feature the LWB cars that followed did not have so if you want to...

911 SUNROOF MOTOR

Hi all, I have a 911 sunroof motor, adaptor bracket, coupling, screws and a pair of sunroof seals, these items were bought for a '71 911 but never used, the motor is a later style but Porsche sell an adaptor bracket so it can be fitted in place of the earlier bulkier unit, £65.00 including postage, ...

XYJ 122

Hi all
anyone know this car XYJ 122, it was a white '59 356A coup'e, I was just wondering if anyone has come across it in their travels as I was going through a bunch of old photo's and came across some interesting ones of it, Bill.
