Re: Gearbox Problem
First things to check:
- Clutch pedal play
- Shift linkage and bushings
Especially the bushings make a big difference.
The dogleg box is often much better than thought of.
Make sure you use a good transmission oil (Swepco is preferred by a lot).
This also makes a difference....

Re: LYY 911D Restoration
OK, complete bodywork, and then what to do with the chassis number?
As far as I can see, it's rusted away on the original shell.
So, in the end there will be stamped something, this thread will live forever on the interweb (cached by several sources)
The car will be very hard to sell....

Re: Bushes and suspension parts
There's a reason they put poly bushes in... It's very hard to find good rubber ones. Not in size, but in compound. After three sets of rubber ones, from OE Porsche and after market I changed to poly bushes because all rubber ones were sagging after days. This has been a few years ago, not sure the q...

Hopefully the specialist will set it right now. The box was oil tight before it came apart for a slightly crunching 2nd. But I never get it, people tinkering so much with stuff that's pretty hard to get it right ánd expensive most of the time. It was just a naughty 2nd gear, it's a 40 year old car. ...
