Re: Under cover Resto
I got some of those nice looking copper coloured exhaust nuts, but in the flywheel side, the exhaust turns sharply and touches the nut. This i believe is because my exhaust may have been a prototype for Richard Kings Sebring exhausts. So I turned 2 down so they would fit. Karl. https://uploads.tapat...

Re: Under cover Resto
The oil sump cover, purchased from Ollie, still available from him i believe, is deeper than the original as it has fins. So I had to add some depth to the top of my engine trolley. And my trolley jack doesn't quite reach! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240524/f33c22473af8f21912b6947429ca08f3.jp...

Re: Under cover Resto
For the oil filler tank, I got some 19mm rubber tubing and an elbow, to send the oil drops down out past the dip stick where there is a whole for just such a thing.

Re: Under cover Resto
I painted the inside of the filter housings, so it's all clean, but left the outside scruffy...... the usual. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240524/c6bb44bbd327357bdbcbefd029444fe9.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240524/ccef2da7bfefeeaa8b2cda352d8233e9.jpg Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapa...

Re: Under cover Resto
I think you might want the normal gasket facing the exhaust? As that is the face which might not be true or move? Some uses sealant on there too. I have some spare exhaust gaskets if you need them Sent from my 22011119UY using Tapatalk Cheers Neil, that sounds like a good idea, I'll do that. I've g...

Re: Under cover Resto
So I bought some old Knect filters and took out all of the inner mesh, just leaving the outer. Then put the paper filter in. The rubber on the paper filter needs notching to allow it to fit over the 5 mounting tubes. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240524/9083325df778b771a293d683038bcc6b.jpg http...

Re: Under cover Resto
Next I got my rebuilt carbs out, crikey that was 4 years ago. I hadn't set them up, so I set the float levels and adjusted the pump injection amount using the home made " vial in a wire". The injection amount as standard is to high, according to the experts, so I reduced the amount to the ...

Re: Under cover Resto
In my engine gasket kit, purchased from Shasta in the USA, I got these metal edged exhaust gaskets. I'll use these and one normal gasket underneath to give a little extra clearance for the tinware. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240524/17a1ba8ebfb4402983737f7e5b0f4a04.jpg Sent from my SM-G965F u...

Re: Under cover Resto
I tried the exhaust on with the tinware and the tin ware was protruding rather. Not sure why, as I had only taken it off and painted it. So a little gentle persuasion was need, and then the exhaust sat flat against the cylinder head. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240524/cd35bdf538cfb3210d59f0d1...
