Sunroof drains

Post by JohnS »

Hi all.
I've got my 911T '73 stripped to bare metal with wings, doors etc off and the interior rooflining out. Seems an good time to check the foward and rear drains from the sunroof body area. I have a suspicion that the fowrad ones have rusted so I replaced the lower part with plastic piping some time ago.
Any suggestions how to go about replacing them or lining them?
Many thanks
John

I'd be keen to hear if anyone has a fix for this . Not so sure you should put a coat hanger wire down there to "free it up". :)
I dont know that theres an easy way to do this and if they are bad you'll probably fnd yourself putting a new roof on in time .

Now maybe I've just had more bad luck with porsche sunroofs than anyone should have in 1 lifetime, but if it was mine I'd weld it shut .

Not that I havnt enjoyed the sunroof in cars I've had but I've not heard of an easy fix if the drains start to corode.
If I was to buy another sunroof 911 it would be a webasto cloth roof
Cheers
