fitting a new exhaust

Before I take the hammer from my tool box, a quick question...
I have a new exhaust, a twin pipe from Transend. Got the old one off ok, have offered this new one up and it doesn't like the position of the support bracket, the one that the two straps attach to. Am I missing something ? Is the bracket adjustable ? The allen key bolts in the straps are also too short for the new box, so the body of the box is obviously slightly bigger. As I look at it there must be a way of getting it fitted correctly without hitting it with something. I wil l call Transend in the morning for their wisdom but in the meantime any opinions gratefully received

Thanks

sounds like you'll need new longer bolts, I would have thought that the exhaust would align with the bracket though?

I had the same problem when i fitted a new exhaust/straps, longer bolts worked for me, once the bolt engages tighten them up and they should pull the straps into position, after that it might be possible to put the correct bolts back on
good luck

Thanks, it seems that my old box is not square and the heat exchangers have been bent to fit it, so I gave up and put the old one back on until I buy new exchangers, Thanks for help
