Anyone know of an importer into the UK of Bursch exhausts ? Google comes up with US distributors only so far.

Anything from those that know gratefully received

Can't agree with that. I've had one on my fourteen for at least 8 years with no problems at all.

going through the options out there, there is Dansk, the autofarm twin pipe and Bursch, and my budget is not for the autofarm set up.

Middlefour, assume it sounds good, any noticeable performance difference ?

Fetuhoe, I need educating, when you refer to headers, which part of the exchangers and box do you mean, or all of it ? got any other info ?

John, what type of muffler are you looking for?

Typically, the Dansk mufflers are good quality

I don't know what your budget is, but you could check out Triad (mild steel) or M&K (stainless) mufflers
I've heard very good responces on both

Headers are basically heat exchangers without heater boxes (or vise versa: heat exchangers are headers WITH heater boxes)

The european racing headers are very nice. Good build quality and fit

But with headers, you have no provision for heat, so it may not be an option for you

Just put a 70mm s/s Dansk on mine and it sounds yummy....haven't taken it out for a full on blast yet either

Right I see, thanks Jeroen and Viv. Yes I need the heat exchangers so will go for SSI at some point this year. I have faced the fact that the noise it makes is a big deal so maybe Dansk then. Where did you get it from Viv ?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Yes, it does sound good and I think the car runs a lot better with it on. It's a 35 year old engine so I don't give it a hard time but it does run very well and I'm more than happy with the Bursch. No quality issues at all. Dansk are very good too, I fitted many a one on my old Beetle.

Thanks all. spoke to Transend yesterday, anyone got experience of their twin pipe sports box, no outlet on left, painted black and comes in galvenised mild or stainless. They say a couple of hp and good noise ?/

If you are planning on doing any trackdays becareful.

Mick Cliff has a stainless twin outlet on his car & when measured @ the DDK trackday @ Elvington was over the limit. If I remember he was near 107Db's ?
