Does anyone have measurements and photos of original luggage straps from a 911?

I seem to remember seeing it on here at some point but my searches have failed to find anything.

I had someone who could make them, but I wanted to find out how they were set up. I didn't have a car handy at the time (still don't!) so I wanted to suggestions about length and then I'd get a sample made up.

I can't find the photo I had.

I don't know for sure if this is the real deal, fond the pic it in a "for sale" ad.

I've always wondered what the loops were for on the rear parcel shelf.
Now I know!
Must go and check whether I have the bottom loops in place.

The girl I work with is a master saddler, and she is just starting up her own business. So I will ask her if she is interested in making a few sets.

Thanks for the photos Jonas. There appear to be two different designs, the second photo looks a little less complex. I was thinking of one strap with a short fixed loop (for the bracket to go though) and a buckle on it, and the other being a simple strap with another short loop and loads of adjustment holes.

Sounds good A price for a simple one would be interesting, otherwise I'm off to buy four extra fat man belts and create my own version

Looks to me like the ones in the second pic are upside down versions of the first. I'd say the first are correct. When I get a minute, I'll make a mock up using nylon tape stapled round some buckles and take some pics. If anyone's interested I'll get a costing and make a sample to photograph. Can anyone tell me how long the whole thing should be - i.e from parcel shelf brackets to the one's near the floor allowing enough room for a nice set of tartan suitcases? I'm guessing black leather with chrome buckles and tan leather with either chrome or antique brass buckles.

I'm up for a set too....

I'd be interested in a set too, how will you let us know prices, availability etc?

I'd still be very interested in a pair of these straps in leather (ideally before classic Le Mans), so please keep me in the loop[ if anyone does get hem made.

once she has sorted out what to charge for them, you will have to decide what colour you want the leather and the fixings, If you can get together and make them standard, like black leather with nickel buckles for example, then she will need a deposit to buy the materials.

Pelican Parts in the U.S used to make repro's of these, not sure if they still have them available?

If not, I have a set in my 912 that can be used as a pattern. The leather is certainly showing its age, but I wouldnt like to say if these are old repro's or the real deal ?

These look like the real thing , or they have been 'distressed' to make them look 30 years old!

black with nickle buckles makes sense, will work in all interior colour schemes
