on turning on my headlights, i have dip beam, but also a orangey glow from the mains...??? this cant be right...??? earth fault..?? its an american car so has had some rewiring to the head light loom, also the flash has stopped working, push it forward and the mains stay on, but the flash has stopped,,,

is this part of the wiring..?? or the swiths gear....???

sounds like a faulty earth, sometimes the bulbs don't connect properly in their holders and do strange things.

When you say 'orangey glow from the mains' do you mean the orange side lights/indicators or the actual headlight?

The headlight flash sounds like a relay or a problem with the stalk

glow is from the main filiment of the bulb, as its way up in the sky and i need to adjust my lens's where is the relay mate.....??

and also....as i drive, every 30 seconds ish a relay clicks from under the dash..??

I not too hot on electrics, I generally mess about with the fuses, bulbs and connectors after that I'm stuffed. But usually the problems I've had with electrics always manifest themselves in these areas. The relays are in the fuse box, the inside of the fuse box lid will tell you what's what.

US versions have extra orange side lights up front, next to the indicators in the bumper, if they come on just remove the bulbs, or hook them up the the indicators.

there are no bulbs in the running lights, although i have thought about hooking them up to the indicators, i really like the look of the wrap around indicators, i think its gotta be a earth problem, as it all worked fine until i decied to tidy up the wiring.....!!!!

you and your wiring! make sure you don't go anywhere near that alternator!

This sounds like a classic earth fault. Check the wiring from the bulb and follow it back. There will be an earth there somewhere which is poor. As the second filament is glowing slightly, the fault is almost certainly with the earth rather than a relay.
