I am replacing the rear cross member, complete with engine mountings on my '72. Have already spot welded internal sleeves to the replacement part ( I intend to weld an external sleeve as well once mounted) and made up a jig which locates on the old/new mounts and was a nice snug fit, checked the cut lines several times and then set too with the grinder.
So far, so good, the replacement slots in nicely but I now find that the jig is no longer such a snug fit

I can see now how I should have made it but too late now. I also realise that I should have taken some check measurements - just in case.......................
I guess it's not going to be far out, but even close isn't good enough.
Does anyone have any standard measurements please? Ideally, say, from gearbox to engine mounts or wherever to help with the alignment.
Thanks.
Bob
