Cable under drives seat?

Happy New Year to all.....

Haven't been doing any driving over the break due to the weather so I've just been cleaning her. Whilst cleaning the carpets, I came across a curly cable under the drivers seat. It's not connected to anything but obviously has been at sometime. It seems to disappear into the side of the car. Anyone have any idea what this is for? My only guess is that it's something to do with the 'fasten seat belt' light that I have in the dash (mines a US 73 model).

Yes - that's correct - it was for the seatbelt warning light (mandatory on '73 models in the US).

Cheers....

Do you know where it is meant to plug into? Mine seems to have a plug on the end of the lead which has been taped up. I'm guessing maybe into the drivers seat belt socket?! The actual 'fasten seat belt' light on the dash is on all the time when driving, but switches off when the hand brake is up. Would like to getting it working as it should again, or otherwise I'll just remove the bulb as it's a bit distracting!
