weber carbs - rebuilt - starting point settings

Post by hot66 »

I've just rebuilt my weber 40IDA carbs. When fitting them back to the car can anyone tell me their 'staring point' settings for the mixture & aircorrection screws?

I was going to start with the mixture screws at 2.5 turns out?

Yep, thatll do fine..

But the thing to do is ALL the setup..beginning with ignition, tining, new plugs, set up linkages to factory spec, check float level, balance idle air, balance r to L ,run on road till hot, set mixture at about 1800 rpm, repeat balance, recheck linkage, reset mixture..

Once youve been round a couple of times it will be getting close..

Is the motor stock?

You will not need any rolling road if it is stock, or even close..just jet according to the well-trodden paths..

Kind regards
