Hi,
Can anyone offer words of wisdom on setting up Weber 40 IDS3CI carburettors?
I've stripped, cleaned and replaced the jets and screws. I want to know how to set them up for engine start and then the procedure for fine tuning.
Thanks,
Chris

A very good explanation of how Webers work -
http://www.inglese.com/tech.htm
A good diagram and complete parts list -
http://www.webernorthamerica.com/pdffil ... _46IDA.pdf
Basic setup from PMO (also good for old Webers)
http://www.pmocarb.com/installation.htm
And very detailed setup and tuning from an old Pelican thread -

If your setting up multi barrel carbs buy or borrow a proper air flow guage. This is the 'snail' type not the unisync type.
It makes the idle screw and linkage set up very easy and saves hours.
Forget the idea of a piece of tubing and your ear (very nasy when the carb spits back!)
One of my favourate tools in the garage and the most looked after.
Cheers.

Bruce,
Nice to hear your air flow gauge is your most looked after tool!
