I've got 7x16inch Fuchs on the back of my 912e, don't know whether its as narrow body as your 911?

I had to slightly roll the rear arch lips and run 205x55 tyres

does that help?

Depends what the 'ET' offset is & what tyres you are fitting.

I know 7" fuchs can be squeezed under the narrow body

Early cars can vary but there shouldn't be any problem fitting 7" Cookie Cutters (or 7x15" Fuchs) on the rear :

The above car has 7's front & rear with 225/45 Kumhos.

Here's what your car might look like with 7x15 Cookie Cutters on:

blimey, my car would indeed look a lot like that!

so the theory is the 7's will fit on the back if I keep the profile low enough, but will they scrape the front?

Shouldn't be a problem on the front either...

great! so I'm looking at some 225/45's or 225/50's all round!!

might actually go with a slightly narrower tyre on the front.

FYI the wheels are currently painted silver, but will strip them and then go for a black enamelled finish, to complete the stealth wheel look. (wheels will be for trackday use only)

The only thing you need to be aware of is that not all tyres of a given size actually are the same size - particularly width-wise !!

Gone in 60 seconds: I know they are just temporary wheels but painting those rims black aswell make the wheels and car look tough! Its got that RS rally look.

Nothing beats fuchs though, although gasburners painted and detailed in black come close.
