I think they're the same as those fitted to early ('65-'73) 911 engines (M22 x 1.5 thread)

Never bothered to check but quick search suggests some are M12x1.5 and others are M14x1.5. The latter is the same size as a wheel bolt thread for comparison

If you are taking the engine out of the 356, you will need to remove the oil.........will the sump plug from that fit in the meantime?
