Has anyone here ever bought a car lift like this one for their home garage? Flush with the floor when not in use. What is this type called? Scissor lift? Non-portable. Are there any manufacturers in the UK that makes such lifts? I'd be grateful if you can let me know. Many thanks.

It is a scissor type lift, probably better described as a lift table.

I’ve never seen a car sized one with a square top except in the amazing US garage. Using a normal scissor lift and fitting a flat top would give the table top style, while removing the top would give access to the middle of a car.

I have the automotive scissor lift ( with 2 platforms) and they sit flush with the floor

Before buying it I looked for a lift table like the one in the 12 gauge garage you pictured and though I could find them on eBay they were never as heavy duty as the one Jack Olsen used.

The one I’ve got is great.

I have one of these

Not mounted flush, but I have the optional ramps at either side so easy to park on when not using

Mid rise suits me due to my building height

I too have a mid-rise Automotech, set above ground. Jonny, ClassicRetrofit, had the full height version, set into the garage base of his previous home.

I quite like this:

Made in USA. But unfortunately that particular model is 3-phase 460v...
