Has anyone here had there early 911 steering rack rebuilt.? If so, please can you post up details of the company. Feedback and price would also be helpful.

Kiley clinton brum, does a great job.
Not much to them mate,a good one is get the queffe quick rack conversion, which consists of a new rack and pinion, just have to make the one hole bigger the pinion sits in,grease it up,new boots and sorted.

It’s an easy DIY job - I did mine, converting it to use the Quaife quick rack at the same time.

I also did mine (although left it standard), new bearing on the pinion shaft and some fresh grease and it’s like new (ish!)

I've always felt the quick rack change would lead to a very heavy steering action at slow speeds and an effort to steer quickly at hillclimb speeds...
The race in my LOLO is a Jack Knight unit with 3/4 turn lock to lock and that is darty but light.
The q/r I put in my assisted Impreza hill car was really nice, but assisted.

Nope, steering is fine even with 9 inch wheels.

Bought mine from Quaife - very good price for what it is. Steering effort not greatly different at parking levels and simply not noticeable when on the move. Certainly not 'darty' by any means. One of the best mods I've ever done.
