I think the membership fee is just about worth it. Main benefits I see are:
WEX fuel card gets a reasonable discount.
Porsche Parking at FoS
Various discounts on insurance/ parts
Porsche Post Magazine.
For what is basically the cost of a night out, on balance worth the value for me.

Some lovely people on the general chat group very helpful and knowledgeable.

I'm positive about the PCGB.
I joined in 1988, it was a birthday present from Mrs Hillclimber along with my ratty 911 project which I still have of course.

I've have written and published 6 articles over the years in Porsche Post, trying to put something back into the Club; I've even given a talk to my local region (#13) about my 30 years with my 911.

I'm happy with it all, and the benefits are there to be had as above.

A good friend (and a DDK member) has another year on my membership, so some are happy.


As with all these 'things' leave if it's not for you, simple.

I use the Boxster part of the Forum quite a lot, and have had a lot of help from that just as I have with DDK.

Are they calling us rude names? I’ll gladly post frozen sausages through the doors of their immaculately kept 1970s bungalows if they are.

On a few occasions in years gone by when in the company of the Club members (at Silverstone) many if not all had never heard of DDK.

I left the club 20 something years ago because I felt there was a lack of early car stuff at P Club GB, and as Bootsy had had the where abouts to put this lot together, I was very pleased to join the DDK fraternity.

I don't know what its like now?

I don't do much with PCGB (and haven't done for a good number of years) but the magazine is good and the other discount bits pay make it worthwhile. 30 years this year I think.

Forum is now good imho, but slow for the early cars.

A quick search of the forum indicates that we have not had a post referring to PCGB as the "Pink Cuddlies" since January 2011.
Oh, where does the time go!?

Worth mentioning that the 2011 post was made by Cubist. Who hasn't logged on here since August 2023.

I confess I was a PCGB card holder for nearly 25 years. Until early this year, when I finally managed to remember to cancel my subscription in time before the annual auto renewal.
To be fair, I did enjoy being able to use it to secure members parking at some events, eg LM Classic.

I was forced to join last year as my insurance policy with Lockton is linked, but am jumping ship. Suffice to say i think it's shitt. You need to pay to sell your car on there platform and your listing only lasts 30 days then the listing vanishes. Forum content is poor, the car valuation bloke knows nothing about early cars....had to do the work for him..

Sums it all up for me....It's a business and not a real car club. Early morning Rant, non heat related. Thank the Lord for DDK.
