This has cropped up on Elferspot - anyone heard of this range ? Essentially a sales boost before the release of the 911S using items from the sports purpose programme.

.
Just had a quick look & would make the following initial comments:
- no picture of the Kardex to back up claims
- "The 4-point roll bar is original (Sport Purpose Programm), as are the seats" - the seats shown in the photos look to be BF Torino Nurburgring aftermarket
- the steel wheels look like 5.5in wide which I'm fairly sure weren't available in '66
- the alloy wheelnuts are incorrect (dangerous ?) for steel wheels - they should be steel open nuts
- bonnet badge is a later version
- steering wheel is a later 400mm LWB wheel
- dual ignition coils & fuel pumps are modern replacements (with no attempt to make them look period-correct)
- non-original (123) distributor
I'm sure there are many more inconsistences ...
.

Yes I’m sure over the years things have gone missing ! I had never heard of the RS Deluxe range though. Just wondered if it was a thing.

The point of the post was to see if RS Deluxe was a thing and what it meant, rather than a critique of the car although I appreciate your greater knowledge.
Posts on 911S registry confirmed the details of the sales pitch on this advert. The RS refers to a circular bulletins that, in this case, is no 13 from 1966 (ie 13/66), however the posts didn’t reveal the contents of RS 13/66. The sports purpose programme was released in 1966, however as you correctly point out on this model, there are plenty of inconsistencies so I doubt that this was a SP range. I would like to get to the bottom of the details of 13/66 though
