SWB Recaro Sports Seats

Very hard to find genuine Recaro 1968 style SWB Sports Seats. These are often backdated to the 1967 look by removing the headrests as shown in the burgundy on green car.

Note that 1967/1968 were not sided like LWB seats. Hinges were always on the left side.

So the black seat is likely to have been sold in a late 67/68 car with the correct D-shape headrest. The tan seat would have been purchased direct from Recaro at a later date which is why it has the push-in badge, but both are correct wider seat pad SWB seats. They are the same dimensions as the 1st Gen 1967 pair I also have.

Both will require swb tilting bases as sold at D911 or Carpoint. They will require upholstery and the black might need a bit of extra padding where it’s a bit flat from use and does need sliders, which I am trying to source and can pass on at cost if I do. Southbound could restore to whatever spec you want.

£4,750 the pair.

Collection: Surbiton, Surrey

The tan seat looks very nice and unmolested. I wouldn't try to backdate the tan seat.
68 seat is better than 67.

Agree and the tan seat is a lovely thing and would be nice to keep in original tan although not many tan cars, let alone ones that need a single sports seat, so rather than continue to sit unused, be nice to see these two work their way in to a car, whether retrimmed and/or backdated. Southbound have all the correct cords/vinyls for swb. Like you, I’d keep them as headrest seats.
