at first glance looks like a world of pain, but I see PRS have been underneath so should be an ok car. Cant say I'd choose a notch over a standard 356

.

It's been for sale for a while - I quite like Notchbacks but not a fan of this one .

The 'been sprayed with aerosols' black look combined with the 'tired' tan interior looks a mess (IMO) - &, I know it's meant to be 'cool', but I don't get the whole roofrack thing - especially with the added extra weight of spare wheel(s) - which seems to be particularly favoured by the early VW brigade ...

But what's not clear is whether the second year notch (T6) was built from a cabriolet chassis as it had a coupe windscreen. Anyone know for sure?

The '62 T6 models didn't start off as Cabriolets like the '61 models - here's the description from the 356 Registry:

"The 1962 line (T6 production) was a very different design in that the new T6 notchback coupé body did not start life as a cabriolet, but with its own production design—In essence, part cabriolet rear end design, part T6 coupe windshield frame, unique hard top. Both years of these unique cars have taken the name "Karmann Notchback"

Thanks for the description. Did the T6 notch have the underpan strengthening of the cabriolet like the T5 had?
